Matures in: 63 days
Plant height: ~4 feet
Description:
This extra-early yellow sweet corn produces 1–2 ears, 7 inches long, on short plants about 4 feet tall. Its tolerance to cold weather makes it ideal for the first corn planting of the season. High sugar content (SU) stays sweeter longer after harvest.
SOWING:
Plant seed outdoors in full sun after danger of frost has passed and soil has started to warm.
Best when planted in 4 rows of at least 6 plants.
Space rows 3 feet apart, spacing seed 4–6 inches apart in the row.
Cover with 1½ inches of soil, well pressed down.
THINNING:
When plants are 3 to 5 inches tall, thin to 12 inches apart in the row.
GERMINATION:
5 to 10 days depending on soil and temperature conditions.
REMARKS:
For continuous harvest of sweet corn, make successive plantings every 2 or 3 weeks during the season. For highest yields, fertilize 2 times during the season.
