Matures in 70 Days
An easy-to-grow and attractive annual whose pleasingly aromatic young stems are used for flavoring soups and sauces. The seeds, as well as the herbage, are essential in dill pickles. Grows 3 to 4 feet tall.
SOWING:
Sow seed outdoors as soon as the danger of frost is past. Plant seed in rows 1½ to 2 feet apart, spacing seed 1 inch apart in the row. Cover seed with ¼ inch of fine soil, well pressed down. Keep soil moist until seeds begin to grow.
THINNING:
When plants are 2 inches tall, thin to 6 to 8 inches apart in the row. Does not transplant well.
GERMINATION:
Germinates in 10 to 15 days depending on soil and temperature conditions.
REMARKS:
Separate seeds from heads by shaking loose in a paper bag. Cut and use leaves either fresh or dried.
