Forget Me Not- Heritage Packet
Cynoglossum amabile

Cynoglossum Amabile

HISTORY
Also called Hound's Tongue, this forget-me-not was introduced from Germany in the early 1900s. In the language of flowers, forget-me-nots represent loving remembrance.

HABIT
This hardy annual produces masses of star-shaped true-blue flowers with deeper blue veins and a pale eye from mid-summer to late fall. Gray-green foliage grows 15 inches tall, making a nice cut flower. Will self-seed but is not invasive.

CULTURE
Sow seeds indoors 6 weeks before planting out in late spring or sow directly outdoors in early spring before the last frost. Seed germinates best if given a cool period. Cover seed with 1/4 inch of soil. Plants do well in well-drained soil but will tolerate both wet and dry conditions once established.
