Biennial — Height: 6 to 10 inches
A free-flowering biennial that blooms very early in the spring. Compact plants produce large, beautiful flowers in a wide range of rich colors. Excellent in beds and rock gardens as well as cut flowers in a small bowl.
SOWING...
Plant seed indoors in late winter for blooms the same year or plant outdoors in early fall for blooms the next year. Plant in rows 6 inches apart, spacing seeds thinly in the row. Cover with 1/8 inch fine soil, well pressed down. Keep soil moist until seedlings appear.
THINNING...
When plants are 1 inch high, thin to 3 inches apart. Make final transplants outdoors as soon as ground can be worked, setting plants 6 inches apart.
GERMINATION...
Germinates in 7 to 14 days depending on soil and weather conditions.
REMARKS...
Pansies prefer a rich, moist soil and will tolerate partial shade. Keep flowers picked for longer blooms.
