Description:
This unique bean produces abundant yields of round, stringless pods on vigorous bush-type plants. Purple pods turn a deep green color during cooking. Pods are about 6 inches long and have a distinctive bean flavor.

SOWING:
Plant seed outdoors in late spring after the ground has warmed. Do not rush planting of beans as a few cold, wet days at planting time may rot seed. Plant seeds 1½ inches apart in rows 2½ to 3 feet apart. Cover seeds with 1½ inches of soil, well pressed down.

THINNING:
When plants are 2 to 3 inches tall, thin to 3 inches apart.

GERMINATION:
Germinates in 6 to 10 days depending on soil temperature and weather conditions.

REMARKS:
For best crop, keep free of weeds. Do not hoe when wet. For highest quality and yield, pick pods when young, about 4 to 5 inches long. For continuous crop, make successive plantings every 2 to 3 weeks until mid-summer.
