This half-hardy perennial is grown as an annual. The violet-blue flowers are beautiful in the garden and fine for cutting. Lasts longer in the fall than most flowers.

SOWING
Sow seed indoors 4–6 weeks before last frost date. Cover seed lightly if at all, as light aids germination. Plant seed or transplant plants outdoors after danger of frost is past. Keep soil moist until seeds sprout.

THINNING
When plants are 2–4 inches tall, thin or transplant, spacing plants 18 inches apart.

GERMINATION
Germinates in 10 to 15 days depending on soil and weather conditions.

REMARKS
Prefers full sun and has very few pest or disease problems.
