Foxglove Digitalis
Digitalis purpurea

Hardy Biennial — Height 4 feet

Tall clusters of Foxglove spikes lend a stateliness to a garden that no other flower will impart. Plants bear many beautiful speckle-throated flowers in an array of colors atop leafy stems. If spikes are cut before going to seed, a second bloom is very often obtained.

SOWING...
Sow seeds outdoors in early spring through mid-summer. Cover seed with 1/8 inch of fine soil, well pressed down. Do not cover seeds deeply. Fresh plantings should be made each year to have blooms each summer.

THINNING...
When plants are 3 to 4 inches high, thin or transplant to 6 inches apart each way.

GERMINATION...
Germinates in approximately 2 weeks depending on soil and temperature conditions.
