Perennial – Height: 10–15 inches
A low-growing herb that is a mainstay in French cooking and should be grown in every home garden for ornamental and border effect. Invaluable for aromatic, medicinal, and flavoring purposes.
SOWING:
Plant seed outdoors as soon as the ground can be worked. Plant in rows 18 inches apart, spacing seeds ½ inch apart in the rows. Cover the seed with ? inch of fine soil, well pressed down. Keep soil moist until the seeds start to grow.
THINNING:
When plants are 2 to 3 inches tall, thin or transplant 6 to 8 inches apart in the row.
GERMINATION:
Germinates in 14 to 18 days depending on soil and temperature conditions.
REMARKS:
To dry for winter use, gather on a dry day when flowers on plants are fully opened. Hang leaf sprays in a cool shed or room until dry. When dry, remove leaves from stems and seal in wide-mouthed bottles.
