HISTORY:
Introduced in 1892 by D.M. Ferry Co., this variety has grown in popularity ever since. A heavy producer of sweet, tender pods that are eaten whole.
HABIT:
Vines grow 24–30" tall and do not require brush or staking. Plant in double rows for additional support. For best flavor, pick pods when quite young and almost flat. Plant every few weeks for continuous supply.
CULTURE:
Plant seed outdoors early season (March) whenever weather allows. Plant seed a few inches apart in rows spaced appropriately. Cover seed with ½ inch of fine soil, well pressed down. Germinates in several days depending on weather conditions. Matures in an unspecified number of days.
NOTE:
From our family to yours — in generations past, vegetables were chosen for their exceptional flavor. Hart Seed Co., still family-owned since its founding, has endeavored to reintroduce those varieties to the home gardener.
