Matures in 60 Days
A popular vegetable used either raw or cooked, as a flavoring in salads, soups, sandwiches, and stew. May be pulled when stem and bulb are 1/4" in diameter or allowed to form larger onions.
SOWING:
For early crop, start seed indoors 5 to 7 weeks before last frost date. For later crop, plant directly outdoors as soon as the ground can be worked. Space seeds 1/2" apart in rows spaced 10 inches apart. Cover with 1/4" of fine soil, well pressed down. Keep soil moist until seeds start to grow.
THINNING:
When plants are 3 to 4 inches tall, thin or transplant 1 inch apart.
GERMINATION:
Germinates in 7 to 14 days depending on soil and weather conditions.
REMARKS:
If larger bulbs are desired, pull every other plant for rareripes and allow others to mature. For best results, cultivate, water, and fertilize regularly.
