Height: 12 to 16 Inches
Developed in Germany in the 1860s, this flat, saucer-shaped beet was refined by Josiah Crosby, a Boston-based market farmer. An early variety that produces a heavy yield of delicious beets, it is excellent boiled, baked, or pickled. Enjoy the tops and nutritious roots chopped up in a salad.

THINNING:

Germinates in 7 to 14 days depending on soil and temperature conditions.
REMARKS:
Young beet tops make excellent greens. For beets all summer, stagger your plantings about every 3 weeks.
