Pepper Sweet Banana
Capsicum annuum

Matures in 65 Days from Setting Out Transplants

Sweet peppers are a favorite home garden vegetable. Sweet Banana produces smooth, tapered, yellow fruit 6" long, 2" thick on plants that are 20–24" tall. They may be fried, used raw, or added to relish platters, salads, or stuffed.

SOWING:
Start seed indoors for setting out transplants before danger of frost is past. Plant seed 1 inch apart and cover with 1/4 inch of fine soil, well pressed down. Place seed starting tray in a very warm spot (both night and day) and cover with a frame of glass or clear plastic wrap to preserve moisture until germination is complete. Then place the tray in a warm sunny window.

THINNING:
When plants are 2–3 inches tall, transplant 2 inches apart in another tray. (Full thinning and germination details were cut off but typically follow similar spacing and timing as other pepper varieties.)
