The standard salad turnip of the South. This variety is grown principally for its tender foliage which may be cooked as "greens". Also produces a white globe-shaped turnip of good quality. Tops are large, plentiful, and have a mild, delicate flavor.
SOWING:
Plant seed outdoors as soon as the ground can be worked. Plant in rows 15 inches apart, spacing seed ½ inch apart in the row. Cover seed with ¼ inch of soil, well pressed down.
THINNING:
When plants are 2 to 3 inches tall, thin or transplant, spacing plants 2 to 3 inches apart.
GERMINATION:
Germinates in 7 to 14 days depending on soil and temperature conditions.
REMARKS:
For first crop, plant as early in spring as ground can be worked. Plant late in summer for fall crop.
