Alyssum is a fragrant annual that is popular for rock gardens, borders, and walks. It withstands cool temperatures and the pure white flowers bloom early in the garden.
SOWING
Sow seed outdoors as soon as the ground can be worked, or as late as mid-summer. May be started indoors in March. Place seeds 1/2 inch apart in rows 4-6 inches apart. Barely cover seed with fine soil, well pressed down. Keep soil moist until seeds sprout.
THINNING
When plants are 2 inches tall, thin or transplant to 6-8 inches apart in the row.
GERMINATION
Germinates in 10-15 days depending on soil and weather conditions.
REMARKS
Goes well with Pansies, Calendula, and Lobelia as well as dwarf Marigolds and dwarf Zinnias.
