Description:
The sleek, rounded pods of gourmet-quality Slenderette beans are particularly tender and crunchy with no tough tips or fiber. Pods are bright green, 5 inches long, juicy, and sweet tasting. Great for stir fries, steamed, or blanched and marinated in a vinaigrette.
SOWING:
Plant seed outdoors in late spring after the ground has warmed to 65°–75°F and there is no danger of frost. Plant seeds 1 inch deep, 4 inches apart, in rows 18 inches apart. Cover seeds with fine soil, well pressed down, and water well. Beans love sun and plenty of water.
THINNING:
When plants are 2 to 3 inches tall, thin to 6 inches apart.
GERMINATION:
Germinates in 7 to 10 days depending on soil and temperature conditions.
REMARKS:
For highest quality and yield, pick pods when young. For continuous crop, make successive plantings every 2 to 3 weeks until late summer. Slenderette is a hardy plant with good disease resistance.
