This over-wintering broccoli produces a liberal cutting of turnip-like leaves and small tender flower buds which are used for greens. Also known as Broccoli Rabe, Turnip Broccoli, Sparachette, and Broccoletto.

Plant seeds outdoors in late summer to mid-fall in a sunny location. Plant seed thinly in rows 2 feet apart, covering seed with ¼ inch of fine soil, well pressed down.
THINNING...
When plants are 2 inches tall, thin to about 2 feet apart in a row.
GERMINATION...
Germinates in 7 to 10 days depending on soil and temperature conditions. Later plantings in cooler temperatures may slow germination.
REMARKS...
For fall greens, plant seeds in mid to late summer. For early spring greens and flower buds, sow in mid to late fall.
