One of the most nutritious of all greens. Easy to grow, tolerant of heat and cold, and very rich in vitamins and minerals. Juicy leaves have a mild cabbage-like flavor and are delicious boiled, steamed, or added to salads.

Sowing:

Sow seed outdoors as early as the ground can be worked.
Plant in rows 24 to 30 inches apart, spacing seeds 1 inch apart.
Cover seed with ¼ inch of fine soil, well pressed down.
Keep soil moist until plants start to grow.
Thinning:

When plants are 3 to 4 inches tall, thin to 12 to 18 inches apart.
Germination:

Germinates in 7 to 14 days depending on soil and temperature conditions.
Remarks:

Contains vitamins A, B, and C.
Flavor is greatly improved after frost.
