Coneflower Purple
Echinacea purpurea

Perennial Height: 2 to 3 feet
This long-lived perennial produces beautiful, long-lasting, and very large 3 to 4 inch purple-red flowers with bronze dome-shaped centers on long stems.

SOWING:
Sow in a sunny location during early spring through mid-summer. For best results, loosen soil with rake or hoe. Cover seed with 1/8 inch of fine soil well pressed down. Keep moist until plants begin to grow.

THINNING:
When plants are 2 to 3 inches high, thin to 18 to 24 inches apart.

GERMINATION:
Germinates in 15 to 20 days depending on soil and temperature conditions.

REMARKS:
Wildflowers require little care. Water only when necessary. For additional plants, divide clumps after 2 or 3 years of flowering.
