Attractive annual that should be grown in every home garden. Produces beautiful star-shaped blue flowers and cucumber-flavored leaves. Used for flavor in salads, cream cheese, tall drinks, or cooked and eaten like spinach.

SOWING:
Can be sown as early in the spring as the ground can be worked. The soil should be spaded deeply and the seed sown ? to ¼ inch deep in rows 18 inches apart.

THINNING:
Thin 6 to 8 inches apart when the plants are 2 inches high.

GERMINATION:
Germinates in 14 to 18 days depending on soil and weather conditions.

REMARKS:
Flowers are used fresh for salad decorations and flavoring. Leaves may also be boiled like spinach.
