History:
A popular strain of “True Hubbard,” named after Elizabeth Hubbard of Marblehead, MA, and introduced in 1898. Always produces one dark green patch on the blossom end of the deep golden skin. Excellent keeper with firm, yellow, sweet flesh.

Habit:
Produces large, hard-shelled fruit that stores well. Allow squash to remain on vines until fully mature. Gather before frost, leaving part of the stem attached.

Culture:

Plant seed outdoors in late spring after the ground has warmed and frost danger is past.
Traditionally planted in “hills” (groups of 3–5 seeds), but can also be planted in rows 6–10 feet apart or among corn.
Cover seed with ½" of fine soil, well pressed down.
Germinates in 7–14 days depending on weather.
Matures in 110 days.
