Low-growing compact plants with finely curled blue-green foliage. A hardy, productive variety with excellent flavor, prepared like spinach. Plants withstand some frost, which improves flavor.

Sowing:

Plant seed outdoors as early in spring as the ground can be worked.
For winter use, may be planted as late as mid-August.
Plant in rows 2 feet apart, spacing seeds 4 to 6 inches in the row.
Cover with ¼ inch of fine soil.
Thinning:

When plants are 3 to 4 inches high, thin or transplant to 12 inches apart in the row.
Germination:

Germinates in 7 to 14 days depending on soil and weather conditions.
Remarks:

Rich in Vitamins A, B, and E.
Requires good soil and thorough cultivation.
A winter mulch of leaves or straw helps prevent damage.
