SOWING:
Plant seed outdoors in a sunny location as soon as the ground can be worked. Plant in rows 18 inches apart, spacing seed 1 inch apart in the row. Cover seed with ½ inch of soil, well pressed down.

THINNING:
When plants are 3 to 4 inches tall, thin to 10–12 inches apart in the row.

GERMINATION:
Germinates in 10 to 15 days depending on soil and temperature conditions.

REMARKS:
Chard replaces spinach during the hot summer months. Make cuttings of mature leaves about 1 inch above ground and new leaves will form, allowing continuous harvest all season until frost.
